Chrysanthemum Desir is a Visiting Clinical Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School and an Assistant Public Defender at the Juvenile Public Defender in Baltimore City. After graduating from the Law School in 2018, they worked in Baltimore’s Office of the Public Defender and Maryland’s FreeState Justice as a Justice Catalyst Fellow. Their interest in indigent legal services comes from their experience both organizing for police accountability in New Haven and working in the city’s schools. Desir developed and co-directed the Know Your Rights Project for young people through New Haven Public Schools and served as Project Teacher and Co-Director of the Marshall-Brennan program.
