Drew Medway is an undergraduate student at Yale College, class of 2022, pursuing a major in Ethics, Politics, and Economics. He hopes to examine the societal implications of emerging technology through an interdisciplinary lens in order to determine how individuals, organizations, and the government at large can best harness these developments for the public good. His primary interests lie in the concerns raised by big data collection, mass surveillance, algorithmic bias, automation of labor, and artificial intelligence. Previously, he had the chance to see legislative responses to technology up close while working in the Senate.
On campus, Drew has founded and currently serves as president for the Yale Undergraduate Society for Law, Technology, and Ethics, and is involved with Yale’s political union, moot court team, pre-law association, and student film festival.
