Felix is a German attorney based in New York City with a background in Art, Media and Entertainment Law. Currently, Felix works as the USA Representative for a German art gallery, where he works with artists and artists’ estates based in the US. In addition, Felix acts as a Legal Consultant for the Sundance Institute where he assists the General Counsel and gives legal advice to filmmakers. As a Visiting Fellow at the Yale Information Society Project, his research interests center on Art Law, particularly Moral Rights, Freedom of Expression and Copyright and on how new technologies are disrupting the traditional art world.
Prior to joining the Yale Information Society Project, Felix graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) - School of Law’s LL.M. program with a specialization in Media and Entertainment Law. Felix obtained his First State Exam (J.D. equivalent) from the Humboldt University Berlin - School of Law and University of Münster - School of Law and earned his Second State Exam (Qualifying Bar Exam) from the Cologne Higher Regional Court, concluding a two-year clerkship during which he held positions in Cologne, Berlin and St. Petersburg, Russia
