Gary Stewart is a Visiting Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School. He is also the former Managing Director of Techstars NYC powered by JP Morgan, part of an $80 million fund to invest in and support diverse founders. Stewart is also the founder of FounderTribes, a digital platform that uses generative AI to mentor small business owners and start-up founders and to generate digital warm intros to funders and investors. His early legal career involved clerking on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals and then focusing on cross-border mergers and acquisitions in private practice in the U.K. and Spain. Stewart leveraged his education and experience to take on entrepreneurial and teaching opportunities. He co-founded — and exited — Goa Internet Services, acted as the Managing Director of IE Venture Lab while being an associate professor at both IE Business School and IE Law School, and operated as the CEO at both Wayra Spain and Wayra UK, where he invested in a portfolio of 185 companies now worth more than $1.6 billion. He is on the boards of  UnLtd  — The Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs and the Impact Investing institute, and he is on the corporate advisory board of Hult International Business School.
