Hendrick Townley is a senior at Yale college pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science with an emphasis on law and policy. His interests currently lie in misinformation on social media, AI policy and ethics, privacy in an age of mass surveillance and more generally in harnessing technology and technical understanding to protect and strengthen our democratic institutions. Previously, he has researched public-private models for data sharing at The GovLab in New York City and worked as an engineer at Facebook in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Outside of his ISP interests, Hendrick has been very involved in the arts as a board member of the Yale Dramatic Association, singer with the Yale Glee Club and actor in various plays and musical theater productions. He is also a proud member of Yale’s civic hacking group Code for Good.
