Julia Wand Del Rey Cani is a Fox Fellow at the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies. She came to Yale University as a Visiting Assistant in Research at the Yale Graduate School of Arts & Sciences from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she is a PhD Candidate in Constitutional Law. Julia holds a Master of Laws from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where she was a lecturer in Legal Theory at the Law School and School of Economics.

Her research focuses on latest decision-making practices that seek to overcome inconsistencies within different models of judicial review. In particular, interests her the distinction between thesis and case as different focal points for each decision, which enables a broader scope of the constitutional adjudication process. Through a comparative analysis of the decision-making of other Supreme [and Constitutional] Courts, the aim is approaching innovative practices that lead to institutional changes.
