Madeline Batt

Community Human Rights Fellow


As Community Human Rights Fellow, Madeline Batt assists the Schell Center in promoting a vibrant human rights community and in developing human rights projects. Her interests include human rights in the criminal justice system and in prisons, gender justice, and their intersection. Batt graduated from Yale College in 2019, where she studied Political Science and was a member of the Multidisciplinary Academic Program in Human Rights. During her time as an undergraduate, Batt served as a Yale College Liaison to the Schell Center. She also worked with the Federal Public Defenders of Connecticut in New Haven, Solitary Watch in New York, the North Carolina Commission of Inquiry on Torture in North Carolina, and TECHO in Panama.
