Nondiscrimination Policy

Yale Law School is committed to a policy against discrimination based upon age, color, handicap or disability, ethnic or national origin, race, religion, religious creed, gender (including discrimination taking the form of sexual harassment), marital, parental or veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or the prejudice of clients.

All employers utilizing the services of Yale Law School’s Career Development Office, including interview programs and online job postings, are required to abide by this policy.


1L Recruiting

Yale Law School follows the National Association for Law Placement’s Principles and Standards for Law Placement and Recruitment Activities for the recruiting of first-year law students.  The law school does not offer career services to first-year students prior to November 1.  Prospective employers and first-year students should not initiate contact with one another before December 1.  Offers of summer employment to first-year students should remain open for at least two weeks after the date made.


Timing of Offers

Yale Law School follows the timing standards reflected in Part V of the National Association for Law Placement's General Standards for the Timing of Offers and Decisions for recruiting.


YLS Grading Policy

Employers are free to request transcripts from students. Request Transcripts
