Robert Chatigny is a Visiting Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School. He was appointed United States District Judge for the District of Connecticut in 1994, and served as Chief Judge from 2003 to 2009. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Chatigny practiced law in Washington, D.C. and Hartford, during which time he was appointed by the Governor of Connecticut to the State Judicial Selection Commission and the State Commission on Prison and Jail Overcrowding. He has also served as an advisor to the Federal Courts Study Committee created by Congress to develop a long-range plan for the Federal Judiciary.
