Ronald J. Gilson is a Visiting Professor of Law at Yale Law School, as well as the Marc and Eva Stern Professor of Law and Business at Columbia Law School. He is also the Meyers Professor of Law and Business emeritus at Stanford Law School, and a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute of Economic Policy Research. His research interests reside in the realm of the law and economics of corporate governance and acquisitions along comparative and domestic dimensions, as well as the economic structure of transactions and complex contracting. Gilson is the author of major casebooks on corporate finance and acquisitions, and he has written more than 90 articles in law and economics journals. He is also the independent chair of the boards of directors of the American Century Mountain View mutual funds, managing some $45 billion on behalf of public investors. He holds a B.A. from Washington University and a J.D. from Yale Law School.
