On March 13, 2026, Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and four union members filed a federal lawsuit in the District of Massachusetts to challenge U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s unlawful revocations of Customs seals, which give workers access to secured areas of terminals. The government's actions are forcing thousands of work-authorized immigrant workers out of their jobs at airports nationwide. On Sept. 17, 2026, SEIU and the four individual plaintiffs moved for summary judgment, asking the court to decide the case without a full trial. The plaintiffs are represented by students and faculty from the Worker and Immigrant Rights Advocacy Clinic (WIRAC).
