William Garfinkel is a Visiting Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School. He began his service as a United States Magistrate Judge for the District of Connecticut in 1996. Prior to his judicial tenure, Judge Garfinkel served as a law clerk to United States District Judge Frederick B. Lacey in Newark, as well as an Assistant District Attorney in New York County, before returning to Connecticut to practice law. He has also taught at the University of Bridgeport School of Law (now Quinnipiac) as well as at Yale, where he earned his B.A. and J.D.
