This panel considers several novel and promising means to increase access to justice for plaintiffs that might not otherwise be able to bring suit. First, the internet provides access to novel forms of litigation funding. By providing a platform through which many people can make small donations, the internet allows for crowdfunding of lawsuits. Through crowdfunding, people or organizations can bring lawsuits they could not otherwise afford. Access to online case data also allows funders to use different criteria to select suits for funding.
