Whose Streets? Reclaiming New Haven's Right of Way

To alter traffic policies to make streets more pedestrian- and bike-friendly, cities must first establish the authority to modify local roads. Doug Hausladen, New Haven's Director of Transportation, Traffic, & Parking, will discuss the city's approach to jurisdictional disputes with Connecticut and compliance with federal regulations. Mr. Hausladen will also discuss the changes to New Haven's mobility system that are at stake in these interactions. Co-sponsored by the Yale Environmental Law Association. Lunch will be served.
