HAVEN MLP: Training

What's the HAVEN MLP? We partner with New Haven Legal Assistance, the Yale School of Public Health, and Yale Medical School to provide legal referral services to patients at HAVEN, a student-run free medical clinic held in downtown New Haven every Saturday for people without health insurance. As a HAVEN MLP volunteer, you'll have firsthand interaction with people who truly need and appreciate your help. The time commitment is flexible and relatively low—generally, we ask that people commit to two Saturday morning shifts per semester.

Human Rights Workshop: Bayartsetseg Jigmiddash, "Gender-based Violence in Mongolia"

Bayartsetseg Jigmiddash is a lawyer with more than 15 years of professional experience in the field of rule of law and human rights. She has held senior government positions in the justice sector and has been at the forefront of Mongolia’s far-reaching reform initiatives. Currently, she is CEO and Founding Director of Veritas Consulting, an agency specializing in strategic development, management and government compliance. From 2012 to 2016, Jigmiddash served as Secretary of State of the Ministry of Justice of Mongolia, becoming the first woman appointed in this position.

ASAP Info Session

The Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP) has supported hundreds of asylum-seeking families, helping them stay in the United States and win their asylum cases. Through ASAP, students can participate in legal drafting, case management, advocacy, and trips on behalf of formerly detained refugee families. We welcome law students across all class years. This Wednesday and Thursday, we will be holding info sessions to introduce ASAP and answer your questions. Dinner will be served. These info sessions will have the same content, so feel free to come to only one.
