Adam Littlestone-Luria Joins Solomon Center as Senior Research Scholar
Attorney and historian Adam Littlestone-Luria will join the Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy at Yale Law School as a senior research scholar this fall. Littlestone-Luria received his Ph.D. in history from the University of California, Berkeley in 2020 and a J.D., magna cum laude, from New York University School of Law in 2023, where he was a Furman Academic Scholar and an articles editor on the New York University Law Review. He earned his B.A. in classics from Pomona College in 2013.
Following law school, Littlestone-Luria was a litigator at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York, where he worked on complex commercial and antitrust litigation, appellate litigation, and pro bono prison reform litigation, including a class action against Angola Prison in Louisiana. He then clerked for the Honorable Jennifer H. Rearden on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and for the Honorable Robert D. Sack on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit.
Littlestone-Luria’s research focuses on civil procedure, torts, health law, federal courts, complex and aggregate litigation, constitutional law and practice, and the uses of history in constitutional interpretation. His writing has appeared in the DePaul Law Review, Louisiana Law Review, NYU Journal of Legislation and Public Policy, and in Critical Analysis of Law. At the Solomon Center, his projects will center on complex public health torts and the rise of artificial intelligence in medical care.
“I am thrilled to embark on a program of research about the role of civil litigation as a tool for the governance of harms to public health and welfare. As one of my core areas of focus, I plan to investigate the role of the judicial process — especially tort litigation — in alleviating injuries to mental and physical health created by AI systems. At the Solomon Center, I am excited to deepen my expertise as a scholar of litigation and bring my work into conversation with voices from across the health law landscape.”
"We could not be more pleased to welcome Adam this fall," said Jeremy Pilaar '18, executive director of the Solomon Center. "He arrives at a moment when questions about litigation's role in protecting public health — and about how the law must adapt as AI transforms medical care — could not be more urgent. I have no doubt his research will make significant contributions to the field."
