Amy Chua Authors Newsweek Cover Story, The Rise of China's Billionaire Tiger Women

Amy Chua, John M. Duff, Jr. Professor of Law, wrote the cover story for the March 10 issue of Newsweek, “The rise of China’s Billionaire Tiger Women.” The article on China’s self-made female billionaires profiles four tycoons including a former factory worker who made billions in real estate; a talk-show mogul; a restaurant tycoon and the CEO of one of the country’s largest online retailers. “China now has more self-made female billionaires than any other country in the world,” she writes. “This is not only because China has more females than any other nation. Many of these extraordinary women rose from nothing, despite living in a traditionally patriarchal society.
