Solomon Center Co-Hosts Film Screening and Discussion on Firearm Injury Prevention
The Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy at Yale Law School joined the Yale School of Public Heath (YSPH) Firearm Injury Prevention Team and The Justice Collaboratory to co-host a screening of “Death by Numbers,” an Academy Award-nominated documentary film about a school shooting survivor, on April 7.
The screening was followed by a panel discussion on both the documentary’s themes and firearm injury prevention policy featuring the film’s writer, Sam Fuentes; the film’s director, Kim Synder; The Justice Collaboratory’s policing, law, and policy director, Jorge Camacho, who provided commentary on the firearm policy landscape in the United States; and community member Celeste Robinson-Fulcher, whose family has directly been impacted by firearm violence. The panel was moderated by Kerri Raissian, Executive Director of YSPH’s Firearm Injury Prevention Team.
The panel concluded with questions from the audience and was followed by a reception.
