Description

The panel, Accessing Abortion in a Hostile Climate, will be open to the Yale University community as well as the general public and will run from 12:15 to 1:30 pm.  The panel will examine how information and services are obtained in settings hostile to abortion, and the legal and health implications of these actions.

Each panelist will be asked to present a brief outline of the legal and policy framework in her area, the conditions under which abortions are performed, the incidence and consequences of self-induced abortions, if applicable, and what these experiences can teach us about a potential post-Roe future.

Invited panelists include Violeta Canaves (Yale Law), Deborah Diniz (Yale/GHJP), Cherisse Scott (Sisterreach), Farah Diaz-Tello (CRRJ at Berkeley) and Liza Fuentes (Guttmacher Institute). Dr. Rebecca Gomperts and Prof. Joanna Erdman (Schulich Law/Dalhousie) will serve as respondents.
