What happens when you combine Harry Potter, Big Data, and Government Surveillance? You get the most talked about play to hit the mean streets of Off-Broadway New York this summer: Privacy, starring Daniel Radcliffe and SNL-alumna Rachel Dartch.
Privacy was described as a "disquieting comic-thriller inspired by the actions of Edward Snowden." During the play, actors portray real-world tech, academic, and government figures (among them OKCupid founder Christian Rudder and FBI director James Comey) and spring to life from the characyer’s imagination, both encouraging him to use technology to help form bonds, and warning against it.
The Law & Technology Society and the Information Society Project are honored and excited to host Harry Fox Davies, one of the people responsible for the play's huge success, for a coffee break and talk. Harry is the Research and Digital Associate for the Privacy Production, a former investigative reporter with The Guardian, and one of the play's stars.
The event will take place next Tuesday September 6th, at 4:00pm in SLB 120. For more information about the play see here and here or, better yet, come meet us on Tuesday.
