Please join the Yale Federalist Society in welcoming the Honorable Cory T. Wilson for a talk on “The Citizen Lawyer,” a discussion of the lawyer’s role and responsibility in preserving our constitutional framework for self-government. 

Judge Cory T. Wilson serves on the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit. He received his B.B.A. from the University of Mississippi in 1992 and his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1995. After graduation, Judge Wilson clerked for the Hon. Emmett R. Cox on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. Afterward, Judge Wilson practiced law in Jackson, Mississippi, was an adjunct professor at Mississippi College School of Law, a White House fellow in the U.S. Department of Defense, and held several posts in state government. He served as deputy Secretary of State and chief of staff for the State of Mississippi from 2008-2011. He also served as senior advisor and counsel in the Office of the State Treasurer for the State of Mississippi from 2014-2015. Judge Wilson was also a state representative from 2016-2019, and a judge for the Mississippi Court of Appeals from 2019-2020. In 2020, Judge Wilson was appointed to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.
