Constitutional Law and the Academy

Please join a group of jurists on leading constitutional courts for a discussion on the relationship between the judiciary and the academy on Thursday, September 15, at 10:10AM in SLB 122.

This event is presented by the Yale Law School Global Constitutionalism Seminar, a part of the Gruber Program for Global Justice and Women’s Rights, and is co-sponsored by Yale Law School’s graduate degree programs, under the leadership of Gordon Silverstein, Assistant Dean for Graduate Programs.

Questions will include how and whether academic scholarship influences judicial decisionmaking and the kinds of research that is most illuminating for the judiciary.

Panelists will include The Honorable L. Roberto Barroso, Supreme Federal Court of Brazil; The Honorable Goodwin Liu, Supreme Court of California; The Honorable Daniela Salazar Marín, Constitutional Court of Ecuador; and The Honorable Robert Reed, Supreme Court of the U.K.

This event will be moderated by Douglas NeJaime, Anne Urowsky Professor of Law, Yale Law School. It will be open to the wider Yale community.
