Professor Saikrishna Prakash will return to the Law School to deliver The Michael A. Doyle ’62 and Bunny Winter Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law Lecture. The lecture, titled, “Spirit," will discuss how the Constitution's Founders frequently referenced the perceived spirit of the law in order to make sense of it. Sometimes the spirit took the law beyond its letter and other times a law's spirit restrained or created exceptions to the letter.
Prakash was the Doyle-Winter Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law at Yale Law School during the 2022-2023 academic year. He teaches at the University of Virginia School of Law where he is the James Monroe Distinguished Professor of Law and Albert Clark Tate, Jr. Professor of Law.
