Exhibit Tour — Flowers at Lambach: A Rare Book Exhibit

Feb. 19, 2025
12:10PM - 12:30PM
Lillian Goldman Law Library, Level 3
Open to the YLS Community Only

Join the exhibit curator, Kathryn James, for a tour of Flowers at Lambach, one of the Library's Spring rare book exhibits.

Flowers at Lambach follows the history of a single manuscript volume in the Lillian Goldman Law Library rare book collection: a collection of texts relating to canon law, produced by the scriptorium at the Benedictine Abbey of Lambach in Austria in the late fifteenth century, and entering into the collections of the Yale Law Library in 1949. It tells a story of scribes, artists, librarians, and of the institutions and influences that have shaped the history of rare book collecting, in the present as in the fifteenth century. We'll meet at the Access Services desk on Library Level 3.
