Description

Come hear from activists and organizers about how they've started to win protections for tenants in NYC including: right to counsel in evictions proceedings and rent control.

Cea Weaver, Housing Justice for All. Cea works to further tenants’ rights and affordable housing policy on both the state and national level.

Dannelly Rodríguez, Student at CUNY Law and long-time NYC activist. Dannelly, who grew up in Astoria, Queens, is currently organizing New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) tenants to get the city to address long-running health and safety concerns and avoid the privatization of the last remaining publicly-owned housing stock in the city.

Sam Stein, geography PhD candidate at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and author, Capital City: Gentrification and the Real Estate State
