Tom Andrews is the Director of the Schell Center’s Myanmar Human Rights Project, a Robina Senior Human Rights Fellow, and the U.N. Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar. The Human Rights Project’s cutting edge research has not only focused international attention on a dire human rights crisis but has led to a reduction in the military junta’s access to the weapons it has been using to attack civilians.  A former member of the U.S. Congress from Maine, Tom Andrews has run national advocacy organizations including Win Without War and United to End Genocide and has provided strategic support to parliamentarians, political leaders, democracy advocates and human rights organizations in several countries including Cambodia, Indonesia, Algeria, Norway, Croatia, Serbia, Ukraine and Yemen.
