Human Rights Workshop: David Marshall, "The Unfolding Atrocities in Tigray"

David Marshall is the Justice Advisor to the Peace and Stabilization Operations Program at Global Affairs Canada. Prior to joining government, he was the head of the Accountability and the Administration of Justice section in the UN mission in Iraq where he led the UN’s efforts to monitor the trials of ISIL defendants. He was the author of the recent U.N. report on mass graves discovered in territory previously controlled by ISIL. In addition, he led a UN human rights investigation into atrocity crimes in South Sudan. He has been a human rights legal advisor for the UN human rights office in Sudan, Nepal and Kosovo. He was the editor/contributor to “The international rule of law movement - a crisis of legitimacy and the way forward (Harvard University Press, 2014). He is a graduate of Leeds University and Harvard Law School.
