Description

This event will discuss the high incidence of COVID-19 in Latin American countries. With a panel of experts from around the globe, we will aim to address why Latin America has been so strongly affected by COVID-19, as well as what sorts of policies, whether national or international, ought to be enacted in response to the pandemic.

Introduction by Ernesto Zedillo, Executive Director of the Yale Center for the Study of Globalization and former President of Mexico (1994-2000)

  • Lorena G. Barberia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of São Paulo
  • Lucia Dammert is a Professor of International Relations at the Universidad de Santiago de Chile
  • Amanda Glassman is Executive Vice President and Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Development
  • Harold Robinson is the Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at United Nations Population Fund
