When it comes to an academic career, a good idea is the most important thing. Being able to express and explain that idea in a quick and compelling fashion is next. On Tuesday, April 20, at 12:10pm, the Law Teaching Series will give you a chance to see the process of pitching and refining paper topics in our annual “Speed-Pitching” event.
We would like to encourage everyone to submit an abstract, but you are more than welcome – in fact you are urged – to attend abstract or no abstract. Participants who want to give this a try will “pitch” a half-baked idea to Professor Ian Ayres. We expect these to be very raw ideas. That’s fine. In fact it is encouraged.
The abstract should be no more than 200 words and should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “Speed Pitching” – no later than Thursday, April 15.
We will try to work through as many abstracts as time permits and we will select them randomly. Professor Ayres will offer brief comments on each, as well as more general thoughts that would be of use whether or not you submit an abstract for this event. It is understood by all that these are rough ideas and far from a finished proposal.
Please submit abstracts by Thursday, April 15. RSVP link will be sent by email.
