Open to the YLS Community Only

The Chae Initiative in Private Sector Leadership is thrilled to welcome back to campus Michael S. Chae ’97, vice chairman & chief financial officer of Blackstone, a leader who has helped grow Blackstone, one of the world’s largest alternative asset managers, to over a trillion dollars in assets under management.

In our centerpiece event of this spring’s Business Leadership Speaker Series, Professor John Morley will speak with Mr. Chae about his early days in private equity prior to Yale Law School, his experiences as a student at Yale, and his career at Blackstone. We will also discuss his leadership philosophy, his views on taking career risks and identifying opportunities, and his outlook on acquiring and managing talent, working with his C-Suite, and the essential aspects of leading as a chief financial officer.
