Description
A panel with Reva Siegel, Linda Greenhouse, and Stephanie Toti, and moderated by Cilla Smith
On June 27, 2016, the Supreme Court issued the most significant abortion rights ruling in a generation when it struck down a Texas TRAP law that would have forced more than half of the state’s abortion clinics to close. Get an insider’s view of presenting the case to the Court from Stephanie Toti, the Center for Reproductive Rights litigator who argued before the Court on behalf of the plaintiffs, and hear from YLS professors Reva Siegel and Linda Greenhouse on the implications of the case for the legal standard protecting women’s rights to reproductive health care and future advocacy for reproductive health care. The panel will be moderated by Cilla Smith, YLS Associate Research Scholar in Law and Director of the Program for the Study of Reproductive Justice. Non-pizza lunch will be served.
