Stephen J. Hadley (J.D. ’72) served as National Security Advisor (2005-2009) and Deputy National Security Advisor (2001-2005) to President George W. Bush. He is a co-founder and principal of RiceHadleyGates. He participated in most of the major decisions involving U.S.-China relations during the Bush Administration, and over the last decade has joined with Paul Tsai China Center Director Paul Gewirtz in leading a variety of “Track II Dialogues” with Chinese counterparts addressing the U.S.-China relationship.
