Professor Hoover is considered one of if not the preeminent scholars of the work of the 13th and 14th century Islamic theologian Ibn Taymiyyah. Today's lecture will look at an issue that was divisive in 14th century Damascus and Cairo and remains a frequent point of contention between Salafis and other Muslims.
