Join the Yale American Constitution Society as we welcome Chris Kang, co-founder and chief counsel of Demand Justice. We will discuss the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat on the Supreme Court, from the politics of the nomination fight, to what it will mean for the court and the country if Judge Barrett is confirmed, to what is next for progressives either way.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, states suspended “non-essential” medical procedures, which some states have interpreted to include surgical abortions. Abortion care, however, is a time-sensitive service. A delay in abortion care may increase the risk to the patient or make abortion care inaccessible. How do we ensure that access to abortion care is not limited during times of crisis? How can we change the notion that abortion care is an elective service?
