But what do we mean by “civilian oversight,” and what are the characteristics of different oversight models? In this final event in the Justice Collaboratory’s Fall 2021 Policing Conversation Series, we will scrutinize different approaches and discuss how they fit into the policing accountability landscape.

Rayhan Asat is a leading advocate bringing international attention to the fate of the Uyghurs in Western China, including the internment of her brother. Samuel Moyn will engage her in conversation about how the moral importance of the topic intersects with changes in our understanding of American and Western internationalism, even as many say a ‘new Cold War’ with China looms.
