Law and the Social Sciences (Psychology) - Tom Tyler - Foundations of American Legal Thought

Professor Tom Tyler will deliver a lecture titled Law and the Social Sciences (Psychology), as a part of the Foundations of American Legal Thought course taught by Professors Daniel Markovits & Cristina Rodríguez. The lecture is open to the Yale Community and all are invited to attend. Lunch will be served.

Art as Sanctuary: Reflections of a Young Palestinian Artist, with Malak Matar

Malak Matar is a 20-year-old woman artist from Gaza, will share her personal story of using art to cope with trauma. She first started painting at age 13, during the 51-day Israeli military assault on Gaza in 2014. Forced to stay inside for her own safety, she felt a compelling need to release her fear, anxiety, and terror. In the first two years, Matar produced over 200 paintings.

We are excited to have our first staff speaker, Nikitia Tillman from the Yale Law School Business Office sharing her story with us. She will be joined by Sarah Camiscoli and Jacob Schriner- Briggs from the JD Class of 2021. Dinner will be from Chipotle, Edge of the Woods, and Pitaziki (with vegan, kosher and halal options) and will be served at 6. The stories will start at 6:15. There may be dessert (!).
