Alexander M. Bickel and the Future of Constitutional Law

The Yale Federalist Society hosted a panel discussion on Feb. 6, 2025 titled “Alexander M. Bickel and the Future of Constitutional Law” as part of events commemorating the 50th anniversary of Bickel’s death. The panel assembled leading constitutional law theorists, some of whom were Bickel’s former students at Yale Law School: 

  • Phillip Bobbitt ’75, Herbert Wechsler Professor of Federal Jurisprudence at Columbia Law School
  • Richard Epstein ’68, Laurence A. Tisch Professor of Law at NYU School of Law
  • Pamela Karlan ’80, Kenneth and Harle Montgomery Professor of Public Interest Law at Stanford University
  • Adam White, Laurence H. Silberman Chair in Constitutional Governance at the American Enterprise Institute

 The panel discussion was moderated by Sterling Professor of Law Anthony T. Kronman ’75.
