Gruber Distinguished Lecture in Global Justice with Veena Dubal

Veena Dubal of the University of California Irvine School of Law gave the Gruber Distinguished Lecture in Global Justice titled “Contemporary Challenges in Higher Education” on March 2, 2026. The discussion was moderated by Amy Kapczynski ’03, the John Thomas Smith Professor of Law and faculty director of the Global Health Justice Partnership.

Dubal is a scholar of employment and labor law and the general counsel of the Association of American University Professors (AAUP). In the last year, AAUP has been central to efforts to protect academic freedom and the rights of faculty, students, and the campus community, including through a series of pathbreaking lawsuits.
