MFIA has represented a variety of clients in open government, press freedom, and free speech cases. Unfortunately, we can only represent a small percentage of the individuals and organizations that approach the clinic for assistance. Decisions about whether to take a particular case depend on a number of factors, including whether the issues at stake involve an important public interest or have the potential to positively impact the law. In addition we take into consideration the experiential opportunities that a case would provide to clinic students, the capacity of the clinic at a given time, and the current priorities of the clinic.
MFIA cannot and will not give legal advice until we affirmatively agree to take on your case. If you have a question about basic legal information, please feel free to contact us, but we may not be able to answer all questions.
If you are a member of the media, please direct all inquiries and interview requests to publicaffairs.law@yale.edu. Please include in the body of your email the name of your publication, deadline, and the specific issue you are seeking comment on.
