The MFIA Clinic represents Human Rights Watch in a lawsuit seeking information about the Bureau of Prisons’ treatment of individuals charged or convicted as a result of terrorism-related investigations since 2001. The data we seek is part of a major HRW investigation regarding potential human rights violations in the investigation, prosecution, and detention of American Muslims under terrorism laws since 9/11. Our lawsuit has already forced the production of hundreds of pages of previously secret records, and the Bureau of Prisons was compelled to produce an unprecedented database of information regarding the detention of terrorism inmates
