The Clinic is representing a reporter with the local NPR affiliate in Connecticut in his efforts to compel the Hampton Bays (L.I.) Union Free School District (HBSD), to release records relating to its surveillance of students of Latinx ethnicity. The district apparently hired an investigator to follow students and photograph them at their homes in an effort to identify and remove from the Hampton Bays schools Latinx students who did not actually live within the district’s boundaries.
