Climate Change & Animal Agriculture Litigation Fellow

The Climate Change & Animal Agriculture Legal Initiative (CCAALI) is a project within the Law, Environment & Animals Program (LEAP) at Yale Law School. CCAALI, which launched in 2021, focuses on the intersection of climate change and the food system, exploring the potential for legal approaches to hold animal agriculture companies accountable for their climate pollution. 

We are seeking a Litigation Fellow to join the CCAALI team for a one-year appointment to start before or around August 2026. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a high-impact and cutting-edge research initiative at a preeminent university, collaborate with NGOs and partner institutions on potential litigation, and engage with varied areas of law including animal law, climate law, environmental law, and environmental justice.

The position may be based at Yale Law School in New Haven or remote in a Yale-approved state. The Fellow will receive a competitive salary commensurate with experience plus Yale University benefits. Applicants must have authorization to work in the United States.

2026-27 LEAP Litigation and Program Fellow

The Law, Environment & Animals Program (LEAP) at Yale Law School invites applications for a full-time Litigation and Program Fellow for the 2026-27 academic year.

The fellow will work closely with LEAP’s executive director, legal director, faculty director, and team to both: (1) support and grow the program’s cross-disciplinary initiatives, research, student engagement, and academic programming, and (2) be a key contributor to a cross-cutting research initiative focused on the potential for U.S. litigation to hold animal agriculture corporations accountable for their role in the climate crisis. The fellow will be an integral team member of this creative program. A major focus of the fellow’s work in 2026-27 will be LEAP’s Climate Change & Animal Agriculture Legal Initiative.

The Fellow will receive a competitive salary plus Yale University benefits. The Fellow must reside in the greater New Haven area and begin the appointment in summer 2026. Applicants must have authorization to work in the United States.

We are seeking full-time law student Litigation Fellows for Summer 2026, to work on multiple discrete projects in support of strategic litigation. Work may include research in support of potential litigation relating to environmental statutes (both federal and state); environmental justice; tort claims; administrative challenges; and consumer protection theories.

Hours & Compensation: 10 weeks of full-time work; $7,200 stipend.

We are seeking Yale Law School student research assistants to work on multiple discrete projects in support of strategic litigation. Work may include research in support of potential litigation relating to environmental statutes (both federal and state); environmental justice; tort claims; administrative challenges; and consumer protection theories.

Hours & Compensation: 6-10 hours/week during the Spring 2026 semester. $18.00/hour, or supervised research credit if approved.
