Anthony Sampson is a clinical lecturer in law, associate research scholar in law, and co-director of the Private Law Clinic at Yale Law School. The clinic, which Sampson leads with Professor Daniel Markovits, allows students to partner with plaintiff-side law firms and nonprofits to advance novel claims sounding in private law that advance the public interest. Sampson’s research interests lie in private law theory, consumer protection, torts, remedies, and the normative structure of contemporary common-law relationships, with a particular focus on the modern consumer economy. Sampson also worked at a large law firm and litigation boutique in New York City, where he represented consumers nationwide in complex class actions and individual matters before state and federal courts. He clerked for Judge Denise L. Cote of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Sampson earned a B.A. from George Washington University, an M.A. from Tufts University, and a J.D. from Yale Law School, where he served as an executive editor on the Yale Law Journal and a senior editor on the Yale Law and Policy Review.
