David Bralow

David Bralow is a Visiting Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School and Senior Vice President of Law at the First Look Institute, Inc., where he is responsible for the legal affairs of the Institute’s three branches: The Intercept, Field of Vision, and the Press Freedom Defense Fund. Bralow was previously Of Counsel at Pepper Hamilton LLP and General Counsel of MediaNews Group, Inc. He has also served as Assistant General Counsel of East Coast Media at the Tribune Company; Partner at Holland & Knight; and a newspaper editor and reporter. Bralow co-founded Lawyers for Reporters, a collaborative project with the New York City Bar’s Vance Center for International Justice that provides journalists pro bono legal representation. He has taught at the City University of New York’s Graduate School of Journalism and New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Bralow’s professional service includes terms on the Media Law Resource Center’s board, ABA Communications Law Committee, and NAA Legal Affairs Committee. Bralow holds a J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law, an M.S.J. from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, and a B.A. from Hampshire College.
