Laura Fox headshot

Laura Fox is a clinical lecturer in law and research scholar in Law at Yale Law School, where she serves as deputy director of the Climate Change & Animal Agriculture Legal Initiative, part of the Law, Environment & Animals Program. Her work focuses on the intersection of animal agriculture, climate change, environmental justice, public health, and animal law.

Before joining Yale, Fox directed the Farmed Animal Advocacy Clinic at Vermont Law and Graduate School, where she also served as Douglas M. Costle Chair in Environmental Law and visiting professor. She previously worked as a senior staff attorney at the Humane World for Animals, formerly the Humane Society of the United States, and as a visiting fellow with Harvard Law School’s Animal Law & Policy Program. 

In addition to her legal practice, Fox has taught animal law at George Mason University’s school of law and courses in philosophy and ethics at Southern New Hampshire University and Northern Virginia Community College. Fox graduated from Vermont Law and holds a master’s in philosophy from George Mason University, where she also earned her B.A. in philosophy.
