Sho Masuda

Sho Masuda is a graduate student at Yale’s Jackson School of Global Affairs, where he explores how data-driven insights can inform innovation policy, financial regulation, and strategic decision-making across both public and private sectors. At Yale, he focuses on the intersection of law, finance, and emerging technologies.

Prior to Yale, Sho served at the Bank of Japan, the nation’s central bank, where he gained extensive experience in international finance and regulatory policy. He led the supervision of major global financial institutions and played a pivotal role in analyzing the implications of evolving regulatory frameworks, particularly in areas of digital finance. He also represented Japan in high-level negotiations with the Federal Reserve, Bank of England and European Central Bank, advancing global regulatory discussions.

Sho holds a Master of Laws from University College London, where he specialized in the intersection of innovation and regulation, and a bachelor’s degree in law from Keio University. Born and raised in Hong Kong and Shanghai, he is fluent in English, Chinese, and Japanese.
