Zheng Zhu

Zheng Zhu is an assistant professor of constitutional law at the China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing. His research and teaching focus on the constitutional review process, reform of China’s people’s procuratorates, and comparative legal theory.  Zhu earned his Ph.D. from the University of Hull in England and his LL.M. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in California. An attorney admitted to the Chinese bar, he has published widely in peer-reviewed academic journals and contributed commentaries to The Diplomat, China Daily, and China Global Television Network. At the Paul Tsai China Center, Zhu will continue his research on China’s constitutional review system, focusing on ways to involve Chinese courts in constitutional review, while also conducting comparative research on the regulation of modern surveillance technologies, including AI-powered surveillance.
