Zvi Septimus is a Visiting Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School. He has written extensively on the Talmud and his forthcoming book is titled The Readers' Talmud: Performance, Authorship, Semiotics, and the Book. His current research on Jewish legal history focuses on legislation relating to sexual unions outside of the context of permanent marriage. Septimus received his Ph.D. in 2011 from the University of California, Berkley and has previously taught at Shanghai International Studies University, NYU Shanghai, Harvard Law School, Cornell University, and University of Toronto.
