Deepika Baskar's ('25 MPH) work focuses on how legal, medical, and economic systems operate as interconnected mechanisms to produce inequitable material consequences, especially as they work to increase vulnerability at the intersections of race, class, gender, sexuality, immigration status and criminalization. They are particularly interested in how health justice research can expose the pathways that deliberately create and sustain this vulnerability, and how such research can serve as a catalyst for public education and collective resistance.
