YLJ Report on Patterns in YLJ Admissions and Student Scholarship: YLJ partnered with Professor Ian Ayres to provide a quantitative analysis of the Journal’s admissions process and submissions of student scholarship.

YLW Speak Up Report: A report on gender dynamics and the importance of diversity at the Law School 

YLW Speak Up Now What Report: This report highlights the importance of diversity to the success of Yale Law students, faculty, and the institution itself. It concludes by proposing next steps for the administration in increasing the inclusion and support of diverse students and faculty at the law school.

Report of the Committee to Establish Principles on Renaming

In August 2016, President Peter Salovey announced the appointment of a committee charged with developing clearly delineated principles to guide the university’s decisions on proposals to remove a historical name from a campus building, space, or structure. The Committee to Establish Principles on Renaming was chaired by John Witt ’94, ’99 J.D., ’00 Ph.D., the Allen H. Duffy Class of 1960 Professor of Law and Professor of History, and comprising Yale faculty, students, staff, and alumni. The committee’s recommendations are articulated in a report approved by the Yale Corporation and disseminated by President Salovey on December 2, 2016. 

Diversity is important to the Yale Law School community because exposure to the widest variety of perspectives and experiences is essential to the practice and study of law—whether it be understanding the law, defending it, or changing it.”
